FORGAN of St Andrews IWD Golf Club Titanium 460cc Driver Review
I've played off and on for several years with several boxed sets of clubs, like Affinity, and I like those sets. My team at work won the fall golf scramble and I wanted a good set of clubs, above the $150 boxed sets, for the spring scramble. I was looking to spend around $350 for a set. After much research, I decided on the Forgan IWD series. I bought this driver, the IWD irons, and the IWD IV Putter. Overall, I like this driver. I was looking for a 9 degree to keep my drives low and long. I live in a naturally hilly area and some of the courses around take this to the next level with rice paddy style tee boxes and the fairway being 20-30 yards lower than the tee boxes. Sometimes with a 10.5 degree driver, your drives have a tendency to balloon on you if the wind is blowing. This driver, with it's higher MOI, hits the ball higher than a previous 9 degree driver I had, and noticeably so, but it was still usable for my needs (I wasn't paying attention when I bought my tees and bought shorter than what I was used to and was hitting the ball high on the club face most of the day.) Some of the paint on the shaft is flaking off after only 1 round of golf. I was able to hit for 300+ on 2 holes and had the rest of my foursome asking to hit my driver. Overall, they were impressed too. The clubhead, shaft and grip are a beautiful black and green duo-tone color. The sound and feel at impact is wonderful. Back to the hilly area, I was thinking about ordering a 12 degree as well for the holes where the fairway is 20-30 yards ABOVE the tees, but after seeing the loft this driver has, it's unnecessary.FORGAN of St Andrews IWD Golf Club Titanium 460cc Driver Overview
